Meet the Academy Committee Members
Mr P Cook: Chair - Co-opted Academy Committee Member
I have been a school governor for 20 years starting when my two children attended the school in the 1990s. I have served on all governors’ committees and am currently Chair of the Primary Academy. I am a retired local government officer finishing my career in a regeneration department in an east London local authority. I now enjoy photography, gardening and, since retirement, not travelling daily on the Northern Line.

Mr C Hudson: Principal
I have been teaching since 2006 when I took up my first teaching post as a Year 4 teacher in a local Sutton school. Following a number of years working across Years 4-6, I moved to Cheam Park Farm Juniors in September 2013 to embark on the next stage of my career, as a Year 6 teacher. Cheam Park Farm Juniors soon became Cheam Park Farm Primary and gave me the opportunity to teach in year groups outside of KS2. Since moving into the role of Vice Principal and then Principal, I have been able to teach one day a week in Reception whilst still covering classes further up the school when required which has allowed me to ge to know so many more children and families across the whole school. In my time as a senior leader at Cheam Park Farm, I have been involved in many different aspects of school improvement and consider myself lucky to be a leader at a school with such fantastic and supportive staff, governors and parents.
Beyond the academic side of school, I have run the Sutton Schools' Football Association since 2011 where I co-ordinate inter-school football between all of the schools across the borough and am proud to have improved the opportunities for children not just at Cheam Park Farm but across all schools in the borough. I take an active role in attending sporting fixtures (football or otherwise) wherever I get the opportunity to do so. I am also an avid theatre goer and have always enjoyed working with colleagues in school to produce shows for Christmas or end of year productions where parents feel proud that their children have been a part of the show.
When not in school, I enjoy time with my family and finding new ways to entertain my two boys!
Ms P Chhaya: Parent Academy Committee Member
I have worked in the IT Industry for over 15 years and have had various roles within this sector; but also passionate about learning and development and currently run programmes within my area to develop and deliver these. I have two very energetic boys and one who is currently at Cheam Park Farm. I have recently embarked on my journey as a parent governor and applied for the role as the pandemic and home schooling has been an eye opener to the world of education for our children. I am very excited to have the opportunity to support the school. In my spare time I love to travel but recently have discovered wonderful walks around the local area.
Mrs M Sathiyanarayanan: Co-opted Academy Committee Member
Mr D Shepherd: Parent Academy Committee Member
I have worked in Local Authority Senior Management for 7 years and have lived on Cheam Park Farm for the last 10 years. I have a PGCE in History and Maths, and retain an interest in the provision of high-quality teaching and learning. I have two children who attend the school, and hope that I can bring some of my skills to enhance the excellent reputation of Cheam Park Farm Primary School, in my new role.
